A Message From the Chief

The Committee realized that the Fire Department budget has been capped until 2010, therefore a community-based fund raising campaign was necessary.

Long-term operational costs will be incorporated into the fire department's operations budget.

The major function of the fireboat will be to transport Fire, Ambulance, Police personnel and equipment to emergencies on Lake of Bays.

A sub-committee of firefighters will decide the specifications of the boat. They will address lake and weather conditions, and versatility for both rescue and firefighting functions.

In emergency response, minutes matter.
